As I wrote in News from 2 September 2008 I had some problems installing the print driver for my printer on Arch. That I therefore choose to install Debian on the server instead of Arch is something I think we should forget again. I can't explain why I did it, or not so that it makes sense for someone else...
But I will say that it was a hasty action to take and that I regret it. Moreover I found the solution in the Makefile file for the driver. I now can install the driver under Arch. I will not say anything more about it here, as I feel ashamed that I didn't read this file more carefully.
One of the coming days I will replace Debian with Arch again, as Debian gives me more trouble than help. more about this later as promised.
I have decided to stop writing German versions of my pages because I don't think my German is good enough. I don't use German in my daily life and I don't watch German TV anymore. My German is not following the change of time and I don't know anybody from Germany who can check it against errors.
The German pages are time consuming for me and I write less pages because I use to much time writing the German versions. Moreover they make me not write new pages. They have become a burden for me. So there will not automatically be created new pages in German. The existing pages in German will stay accessible on the server, just like before. But only explicit chosen pages will be created in German and only if I have time and feel like making them. Existing pages in German where changes happen will not be updated. Instead they will be marked with a notice and linked to the danish and English versions that are current.
Should there be a reader from Germany out there who loves my German pages and wants me to continue, please write me. Maybe together we can keep the German pages alive.
